The Change

With attainment expectations higher than ever, many teachers see little alternative but to use the curriculum as a tick-list for learning. We aim to redress the balance between coverage and authentic, pupil-led experiences, reducing the risk of further dissociation between school and the outside world.

Taking inspiration from the Finnish education system, we work with primary schools and teacher training institutions around the UK, supporting school staff as they transition from deliverers of knowledge, to facilitators of learning experiences.

The Sessions

We work to develop staff confidence; empowering individuals to experiment with, and incorporate a more project-based approach into their own teaching practice. Staff are taken on a journey; from the initial stages of development, to delivery and assessment as they deepen their understanding of, and appreciation towards this authentic style of teaching and learning.

The Menu

  • Our staff meeting agenda condenses the fundamental elements of project-based learning into bite-sized chunks. These interactive sessions enable staff to experience and understand the theory behind practice, as well as practical steps to help to introduce it to their own classrooms.

  • Representative of our own methods, staff are active participates in our specialised training days. From initial stages of development, to delivery and assessment, our guidance seeks to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of our approach, and its place in modern classrooms.

  • Collaboration is an essential component of change. Our small group sessions encourage staff to work together, supporting one another as they experiment with this unique approach to teaching and learning. Training is available in one-off slots or as a more on-going programme of support.

  • Our 1-1 coaching service provides individuals with dedicated support as they move toward our learner-centred classroom approach. From individual sessions, to block bookings, we aim to leave teachers feeling confident in project-based learning, empowering them to incorporate it into their own practice, as well as disseminate it with colleagues throughout the school.
